TRIAC

A Triac, or triode for alternating current, is a semiconductor device used for AC power control. Similar to an SCR, a Triac can conduct current in both directions when triggered. It is commonly used in applications requiring phase control, such as dimmer switches for lighting and speed control for motors. Triacs are widely employed in household appliances, lighting systems, and motor control circuits for their ability to regulate AC power efficiently. Due to their bidirectional conduction capability, Triacs offer versatile control over AC loads, making them indispensable in various electronic systems.
